ROCK THE WORLD
Monday, December 29, 2008

I was a gyroscope spinning too fast
And still, nowhere to go.
Like a bamboo
Bending forwards and backwards
But will never break

Is it really you, timeless goddess,
Who can make me stay forever,
With eyes that can control my temper
With a smile that sends me in a blackhole of bliss?

Or have I lost you, brilliant diamond
That out- sparkles every star
And charms all jewelers.

Now, I’m a roulette
Betting with time and chance.
Betting even when there’s nothing left to bet
Until I, indecisively, choose what’s right.

With lightning fast shots and heart- pounding exchange of smashes. This is how the intense contenders in the District Meet last Sept. 28, 2008 fought. Still, QueSci went on with a thrilling win against Ernesto Rondon HS.

The cunning and determined Eric Santos of Darwin- II proved that he was a strong opponent. Even the perfectly timed and angled smashes were deflected by him. With the score 14- 11, in favor of Santos, unforeseen errors were made. This made Ernesto Rondon HS to a 5- 0 run and lead by two points. But staying focus, Santos won the breathtaking match with a powerful smash to set a tricky dropshot on the leftside of the court.

The crowd was very pleased in the eye- popping match between QCSHS and Ernesto Rondon High School.

Limitless homeworks, out- of- this world projects and hectic schedules. These are the Scientians' best enemies. Starting from a 7am- sharp policy to the 5 pm dismissals. It's very hard to balance our works from our life.

You can call us crazy but you must think twice if you can only experience our lives. Our homeworks averages from 5 to 6 hws/day. Staying up so late and waking up at dawn is one symbol of being a Scientian. You can also call us nocturnal freaks or something if you want to. All Scientians have the art of cramming down to perfection. This strategy is always useful and easy to do but beware you must be a fast- thinker to do this.

In the Scientian world, time is not on our side, instead it is our #1 enemy. It makes us cram for our lives and do crazy things. In our class schedule, the 5pm dismissal is a burden. Consider this worst- case scenario: you are the cleaner for a certain day where the dismissal time is 5pm and it is raining cats and dogs and you are going to ride a Monumento jeep where the line have a length of a roller coaster. What time will you be at home? 8pm? 9pm? Maybe 10pm is the worst. I can't imagine that scenario. It's too harsh for me.
These things are just the basic travails I encounter so expect a lot more when you ask other Scientians. Still, these travails do not keep us from achieving our goals and enjoying our leisure in life. To those who are or were already Scientians: Good luck to your travails, to those who wants to be: (I'm sorry, do you still want to be a Scientian after reading this?!! Hehe! Just kidding!)
